Cofresco Frischhalteprodukte GmbH & Co. KG founded the Cofresco Forum in 2001. Its aim is to drive the international exchange of knowledge between scientists and thus support research in the field of household packaging. The Cofresco Forum aims to utilize the lively and expert scientific networks which have been established in the previous years.

7th European Bioplastics Conference
On 6 and 7 November, the 7th European Bioplastics Conference will be presenting the latest innovations and developments in the field of materials and applications in Berlin, Germany. The international industry event provides an information platform for sector trends. Amongst other things, speakers will be reporting on new processes and materials, application innovations and the ecological and economic properties of bioplastics.

Packaging Technology of the Future
What will be the leading technologies of the next 10 years? What will influence packaging over the coming years? On 6 June, the IPI International Packaging Institute will be providing insights into the technologies and trends of the coming decades in Schaffhausen (Switzerland). Experts from various areas related to packaging will be presenting possible ideas and solutions on topics such as cloud intelligence, innovative packaging processes and packaging materials of the future.

Focus on sustainable food packaging
On 21 June 2011 the 7th Round Table of the Cofresco Forum took place in Vienna. This year’s event focussed on the topic “Sustainable Food Packaging: Innovations and Trends”. Scientists and industry experts discussed various aspects concerning the handling of food at home – with storage and preservation as well as preparation and waste. The event was hosted by the Cofresco Forum and its cooperation partners, the Austrian Research Institute for Chemistry and Technology (ofi) and the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt.
